Guru Dutt, the legendary filmmaker, who changed the face of Indian cinema with his innovations, would have turned 93 today.

A man ahead of his time, Guru Dutt is among the few artistes who have made a mark in the history of Indian cinema. An actor, director and producer, this man was perhaps the most brilliant package of talent we ever had.

 Guru Dutt has left the image of a somber and self-destructive romantic hero haunted by failure and death. Guru Dutt marked the Indian film industry by a completely different personal approach that is being rediscovered and admired even today.

 He is remembered in the history of Indian cinema as the brooding passionate romantic who tried to reflect the changing social situation in India in the fifties. Within his short life, he created some of India`s most socially conscious movies like Pyaasa (1957), Kaagaz ke Phool (1960) and Chaudhvin Ka Chand (1960).

Even today, movies like Pyaasa and Kaagaz Ke Phool are cult classics and are relevant in this time too. Both are listed in Time magazine’s ‘All-Time 100 best movies’!

Remembering Shahzad Khalil: One of the best directors Pakistan media industry has ever produced.

Shahzad Khalil began his career as a director producing music videos in 1970, and then moved to making television drama serials. After a few projects he moved from PTV in Lahore to its Karachi Center. The Government of Pakistan gave Khali the Pride of Performance Award in 1986 and named a Karachi street after him. Khali's wife Badar Khalil is a veteran Pakistani Actress. They have two children, Ibrahim and Umar. Khalil was not only an intelligent TV director but he had a great personality. He gained fame in a very short period of time as a result of the dramas he directed for Pakistan television. Helen was born in Burma to an Anglo Indian father named George Desmier and a Burmese mother named Marlene. Her father went missing during the Second World War. Her family migrated to India in 1942 as refugees in order to escape from the Japanese invasion of Burma. Helen was introduced to Bollywood in 1953 by the famous dancer Cuckoo.
